Embark on a culinary journey through Italy

The Garda Trentino region is an area famous for its gently cold-pressed extra-fine olive oil – it’s no coincidence that olive oil here is known as the “gold of Lake Garda”. But it is also the region of fruity white and intense red wines, especially Nosiola and Marzemino. We recommend combining a culinary wine tasting with an overnight stay. That’s the Mediterranean side of Lake Garda’s cuisine. Over the past centuries, a hearty alpine cuisine has also established itself around Torbole: Polenta (corn semolina dishes), Strangolapreti (spinach gnocchi) and Carne Salada (beef marinated in salt, eaten raw) are just some of the typical specialities that will take you on a culinary journey through Italy anchored at Lake Garda.

Culture and history at Lake Garda

History buffs and those interested in culture should visit the surrounding villages. The villages Arco and Riva del Garda welcome you with picturesque alleyways, charming boutiques and medieval walls. The squares are bustling with life, and there are numerous activity options available all around. Limone sul Garda and Malcesine also exude a charm all of their own that will stay with you for a long time. If you want to travel a little further afield, we recommend the picturesque city of Trento with its imposing buildings, museums and galleries as well as Buonconsiglio Castle, or the romantic city of Verona with its famous arena and the balcony of Romeo and Juliet.

The Aktiv Cave

Are you enchanted by the charm of tradition? You can experience exactly this in the old stone vaults in the heart of Nago. What’s more, a place that celebrates the simplicity of real flavours awaits you here: the Aktiv Cave. It’s no ordinary wine cellar, but instead a cosy retreat where time passes more slowly, the wine tells its own stories and you experience the roots of authentic taste. Here our typical cheeses and sausages mature. And in the meantime, you toast your holiday with a good glass of wine. Afterwards, you might like to take a stroll through Nago – a village full of stories.
