"I chose Lake Garda for an important appointment: the training session, preparing the Road World Championship of Innsbruck-Tirol 2018.
Torbole is a perfect starting point: there are roads, there are climbs, there is the ideal climate and there is a bike hotel like the AktivHotel SantaLucia that allows us to enjoy the preparation in total relaxation, pampered by the high level services, such as the workshop and the whole bike point area, that we really used a lot while preparing the bikes for the day.

In 2003, I had the honour to wear the "yellow jersey" at the Tour de France. For me it was a dream come true that, before this important event, in January, I was able to train on the Lake Garda for 20 days. For years, we had talked about it during international races and it was really a big surprise for us and for me that we were able to train in this really great place. We would like to thank Silvio Rigatti for giving us so much support in his AktivHotel SantaLucia in Torbole. I wish to invite all cyclists in the world to come and train in this beautiful place on Lake Garda.

I very often come to the AktivHotel SantaLucia on Lake Garda and, every time, I experiment new special tours which offer great views of the lake and of the countryside.
The mountains of the Garda Trentino reflect themselves in the lake, and make memorable this cycling experience. You could describe Lake Garda as a large heater that maintains mild temperatures, which never drop below zero. This gives sports people the opportunity to train even in winter, stay on the bike for a few more kilometers, and enjoy beautiful, sunny days. The training around the lake even allows you to practice some elevation changes. Training at the beginning of the season is really magnificent. You could say that Garda Trentino is heaven for all who want to ride.
I recommend everyone to try it at least once.
